フリーランスになって６年目になります。
スクウェア・エニックスでFF11の開発に携わらせて頂いた際、ゲームイベントでピアノを演奏するという機会をいただき、以後、在籍中も様々な場面で演奏をさせていただきました。フリーランスになってからは更に、アレンジや演奏の仕事をたくさんいただくようになりました。

実はこれまで、私はずっと「依頼」をしていただいての作曲活動をしてきました。ゲームを中心に「何かに彩りを添える音楽」を作る事が楽しく、とても好きだったからです。それが、フリーランスになってゲーム以外でもさまざまなお仕事をいただくようになった事で、ふと「自分発信の音楽も作ってみたいな」と考えるようになり、今回のこのアルバム制作へとつながりました。

自分でコンセプトを練り、作品を揃え、演奏する。それがこんなに心細く、不安なものだとは思いませんでした。しかし、本当に長い時間音楽を作る仕事をさせていただき、またピアノを演奏する仕事もさせていただいたことで、ひとつの挑戦として、思い切ってやらせて頂く事にしました。

このアルバムは私の「自分発信」ではありますが、みなさんの生活のどこかに「彩りを添える」とこが出来たら本当に嬉しいと思っております。
ぼーっとしながら、お茶をしながら、眠る時、起きたとき、空が綺麗だったとき・・・
何気なく、このアルバムを聴いていただけますと幸いです。

My freelance career started 6 years ago.
I was involved with the development of FINAL FANTASY XI at SQUARE ENIX and got an opportunity to play the piano in front of an audience at the game event, that eventually led me to perform in various occasions. Even after turning freelance, I’ve been fortunate to have many job offers including arrangement and performance.

Actually so far my work as a composer has been in line with someone’s “request”. Creating music which “add a touch of color to something” mainly in the world of gaming. I must confess that I enjoy this process and simply love it. Once turning to a freelance composer, I got more involved with a wide range of projects not limited to gaming music. Then the idea came to me that it might be time to create my own music from scratch. This is why I created this album.

To come out with a concept, prepare necessary pieces and perform them – all has to be done by myself. It was totally beyond my imagination how lonely and helpless my solo journey could be, but I made up my mind to take a challenging step forward. In my career, music creation and piano performance have been my passion over a long period of time.

I would say that this album is all about me, but my wish is that you could feel a hint of color when listening to my music. When you are relaxing, having a cup of tea, dozing off at night, waking up in the morning, seeing beautiful sky…I believe any moment in life can be colorful.

１．雨香
「雨香」とは、文字通り雨の香りを意味します。日本は豊かな四季があり、その中で様々な雨模様を見る事が出来ます。穏やかに葉をぬらす雨、霧のように身体に纏い付く雨、強くなっていく雨足・・・

２．冬木立
どこまでも続く雪原の向こうに、小さく木立の群が見え、その上に大きな空が広がっている。空気はキーンと冷たく、風の音以外何も聴こえない、少し現実を忘れるような景色・・・

３．風花
冬の晴れた日に、山に積もった雪が風に舞い、太陽の光に照らされてキラキラと山里に降り注いでくる。とても幻想的で、しばし時間を忘れてしまう光景です。

４．skyscraper
高層ビル群の隙間から青い空が覗いている。毎日良い事も悪い事もたくさんあって、気がついたらほっとする時間を忘れていた、そんな時に、高層ビル群の合間に見える大きな空を見上げ、ちょっとだけ時間を忘れて眺めてみる・・・

５．黎明
まだ太陽の昇る気配もない、碧く薄暗い夜明け前。しーんと静まり返った人里にぽつ、ぽつと、朝の支度を始める明かりが灯り始める。そこに静かにとどまっていた空気が、ゆっくりと動き始める時間。

６．Sky’s The Limit
どこまでもどこまでも果てしなく続く空。限りなく大きく、大地を覆うように広がる空からたくさんの力をもらう時。蒼い空の下で深呼吸をする清々しさ。何かを成し遂げた時、あきらめた時、決意した時、見上げたらいつも「大丈夫」と背中を押してくれるような、大きな安心感。

楽曲解説：谷岡久美

１．雨香 – Ukou –
“Ukou” literally means the scent of rain. Japan has four seasons where you can feel different types of rain. Imagine raindrops gently pouring on leaves, a wreath of misty rain around your body and listen to the rain falling harder.

２．冬木立 – Fuyukodachi –
The snow field seems endless in front of you. Far away trees gather under the open sky. Leave the reality behind just for this moment, feel the crisp air and the sound of wind.

３．風花 – Kaza Hana –
On a sunny winter day, the snowflakes from the mountain dance in the air. The sun shines through, spreading sparkles all over the place. Enjoy the magical scenery, it surely takes your breath away.

４．skyscraper
Now it’s time to take some time off to relax out of hectic days full of ups and downs. Open your eyes, look up to the blue sky in the skyscraper jungle and stay there for a second.

５．黎明 – Reimei –
In the moment between night and dawn, it’s so quiet here in the village. People start putting lights on to wake up. A new day begins.

６．Sky’s The Limit
The open sky embraces us from far above giving strength and comfort. Take a deep breath under the blue sky and feel the fresh air. When you come across life events, such as achieving something, giving up or even making decisions, look up at the sky. Sky is the limit and you know that you can move on.
